PROJECT REFLECTION.

As a whole the project was completed effectively and the outcome was very pleasing. The group worked very well together and no major issues arose during the project. All group members made a contribution towards the project and this ensured a thorough and in depth analysis of the urban landscape of San Pedro de Macoris.

The biggest challenge of the project was gathering information on the city. Due to its size and undeveloped nature, there was limited information readily available and the majority of this was in Spanish. This made establishing key facts about the city challenging, however, this obstacle was overcome and the final project portrays the effectiveness of the research that was conducted.

The 3 learning modules were very useful and came in handy when investigating the urban fabric and cityscape of San Pedro de Macoris. They provided us with a great base of knowledge of how to represent key elements within the city and also how to investigate an urban environment. I also found my second major of town planning very useful when it came to writing the report. Planning has given me a general knowledge of relevant concepts such as Lynch’s 5 elements and this provided a great starting point for the text portion of the assignment.

All in all, i feel like the project was a success and the feedback received during the city exhibition reinforced this notion.
